Djizak Khokimiyat (Khokimiyat (Local Administrative Office) of Djizak region)

The regional administrative office of the Government of Uzbekistan in the Djizak region, which covers its main city and 14 district khokimiyats. The region’s representative bodies include the Kengashes (Councils) of People’s Deputies, who are elected from the province as whole, its main city, and its individual districts.

The Khokim (governor) of the Djizak region is the head of both the region’s representative and executive bodies. The Khokim of the Djizak region is accountable to the President of Uzbekistan, and to the relevant Kengashes of People’s Deputies.

Both the Kengashes of People’s Deputies and the provincial governor ensure the effective implementation of socio-economic development processes, aid the establishment of appropriate relationships between state authorities, the Government of Uzbekistan and self-governing bodies, and facilitate the community’s involvement in the management of the region. The Kengashes of People’s Deputies and the governor of Djizak region also ensure the local execution of laws, decisions of Parliament, and the acts adopted by the President and the Cabinet of Ministers.
